Priyanka has been the coordinator for the Trust in Nepal during this turbulent year. None of the trustees have been able to attend to the work of the sponsorship programme this year because of travel restrictions  due to the pandemic. Priyanka ( 22 ) has a long association with the trust having come through the trusts education programme from when she was 4 yrs old. She is currently in her final year studying to be a Physiotherapist at Sharda University in Delhi. Due to the pandemic she is carrying out her studies on line from her village in Nepal. Priyanka has been a volunteer coordinator in the villages when she has been on leave from her University and her experience in this has helped us greatly.

The fees that are required to be paid each year are now being processed by Priyanka in coordination with schools that our sponsored children attend. It is our policy that we make payments direct to the schools on our visits each year. This year we have been able to send the money for the school fees to Priyanka who has carried out the work of direct payments to schools for us.

She also coordinated the distribution of womens menstruation kits that the Trust took over to Nepal and India last year. Days for Girls a charity that makes and supplies the kits heard of the Sarimilla Trusts work in Nepal. After  a number of meetings we arranged to take over a number of kits to distribute in the communities we work in. Priyanka took on the work of this operation in the community in Nepal and also at her University in India.

Any problems that have arisen with students and their families have been relayed to us by Priyanka. Having come through the Sarimilla Trusts school sponsorship programme herself she can fully relate to problems that families face. Her voluntary work as our coordinator has been invaluable to us this year, she has proved to be an excellent communicator and organiser for the Trust.
